Nū Authorities (2021)
Together with first-year students from the Interdisciplinary Arts Bachelor at Zuyd University, As of Nū explored the hidden power structures of fashion. The students translated their findings into activist pamphlets — an ephemeral form of communication that mirrors the fleeting nature of fashion itself.
The process began with critical reading and discussion, identifying the rules and hierarchies embedded in fashion. Each student focused on one issue, using ethnographic and experimental methods to research it further. In the next phase, they transformed their insights into a creative pamphlet, designed to provoke, question, and engage.
From collage and illustration to fabric and multimedia, the pamphlets took many forms. Exhibited at Fashionclash in the Blanche Dael location, they sparked dialogue between students, the industry, and the public.
